The Moscow voivode fell from his horse amidst the mocking laughter of the Cossacks, and his army threw down their weapons and began to flee. As a result of this campaign, Sahaidachny assumed the title of Hetman of Ukraine, expanded the territory, increased the number of registered Cossacks, and achieved recognition of administrative autonomy for Ukraine within the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
