Manga author Matsuda Jyuko was inspired by the work of the Ukrainian SSO (special forces) after seeing an article in the Japanese media:
a deeply conspiratorial operative with the call sign “Donetsk Fat Cat” destroys the food warehouses of the Russian occupiers.
The story about the Donetsk Cat was invented by Matsuda-san. It is a collective image, an urban legend.
Such legends arise because the victory of Ukrainian soldiers amazes the world.
